IMC/Teddy Welcomes in New HG 2204 ATC Press Brake

IMC/Teddy has prided itself in innovation & bringing you the highest quality product using the most modern manufacturing techniques. The next step forward in this mission has been fulfilled. IMC has welcomed in a brand new HG 2204 ATC Press Brake into its equipment lineup.

So, what’s the story exactly & how will this benefit you? Let’s dive right in.

Out with the Old

Previously, IMC was using an Amada HFE 220-4S press brake. The brake was in our rotation since 2003 & saw thousands of hours of use since then. It was the most used press brake & a workhorse at that. Fast forward 21 years & manufacturing processes have certainly changed. More specifically, manufacturing speed has increased dramatically. With that said, it was time for a change. It was time to bid farewell.

Here’s an in-depth look at the decommissioning process that took place over the course of 1 day:

In with the New

With the old press brake decommissioned, it was time to usher in a replacement. That replacement is HG 2204, one of Amada’s flagship press brake machines. With this new piece of equipment, IMC’s press brake department would become rejuvenated. HG 2204 allows for more accurate bends & less setup time compared to the outgoing model. Additionally, IMC’s experienced press brake team felt right at home with this new machine thanks to the intuitive interface & familiar operation.

Here’s a look at HG 2204 being delivered to IMC’s facility & set in place in the factory:

What Does This Mean for You?

With the new press brake in place & operating, you expect faster lead times & better quality products. HG 2204 is one of the most versatile press brakes on the market allowing for longer bend lengths & a wider variety of shapes. This means previously impossible-to-bend products are now possible with this new machine. With IMC’s emphasis on producing custom products that fit your application, this is a true upgrade to the overall operations.

This is just the first phase in IMC’s upgrades, we will be performing additional major improvements to the factory over the following months – stay tuned! In the meantime, to learn more about IMC click here.
