Introducing Model #MHS: The Hand Sink Reimagined
After a week of anticipation & mystery, IMC/Teddy is proud to announce a unique hand sink product to join our growing lineup: Model #MHS Moon Hand Sink. We are very excited to share with you everything about this new product & how it can play a big part in keeping your facility safe & sanitary. Let’s begin.
Design Inspiration
Simply put, model #MHS is a direct result of successful collaboration & innovative engineering. But, let’s start from the beginning.
One of our close partners, Ashley Pratt of Webb Foodservice Design based in California, contacted our rep, Curtis Radi of The Pacific Group, about a special project involving a “half-round type hand sink.” The goal with this hand sink was to service multiple users at once while being hands-free operated. IMC/Teddy is no stranger to custom solutions & this seemed to be right up our alley.
From the beginning, IMC wanted to develop a product where beauty can combine with functionality. After some back & forth with the overall design, the “moon sink” was finally born! IMC is always eager to collaborate with consultants to make any idea into a reality & we think we hit the mark successfully with the end product.
What Exactly is a “Moon Sink?”
MHS consists of a rounded sink bowl mechanically attached to a pedestal, which fully encloses all plumbing for a sleek, modern look. The seamless design protects against dirt build up, making it easily cleanable. Operation of the faucets is performed via foot pedals integrated into the pedestal.
The unit can be mounted to the wall with “z” brackets for a simple, flush-to-wall installation. For quick access to the plumbing components, a removable panel is provided.
3 configurations are available – MHS-2 (for 2 users), MHS-3 (for 3 users) & MHS-4 (for 4 users). Faucets & foot pedal valves are included with all models.

What Does This Mean for You?
So, how does this all benefit you & your facility? Let’s break it down below:
1. High Volume – From the beginning, we needed to construct a single sink designed for multiple users. MHS can easily accommodate 2-4 users based on your chosen configuration. This means more time saved & less time waiting around for a sink to open up.
2. Sanitary – A hand sink would not be a hand sink if it didn’t produce flowing water for washing. MHS takes this to the next level in regards to sanitation. That’s because you don’t have to operate the sink with your own hands, potentially leading to cross contamination. Instead the unit is operated hands-free by using foot pedal valves integrated into the pedestal.
3. Space Saver – Rather than investing in multiple single-user hand sinks, MHS can be used as one comprehensive unit. Let’s face it – multiple free standing sinks can take up valuable floor space, but MHS’ relatively small footprint leaves more room for other equipment to be placed in your area.
4. Versatile/Customizable – In the early design process, we wanted to create an attractive sink that could be placed inside of a busy commercial kitchen or even in a public area like an outdoor banquet. MHS is perfectly suitable for these types of applications. Also, as mentioned above, the sink can be configured for 2-4 users so it can be customized to fit your venue perfectly.
5. Abuse Resistant – As with all IMC products, we stand by our high quality craftsmanship. MHS is no different. The type 300 series stainless steel construction is strong & resistant, so it can stand up to the day-in, day-out abuse. Also, the extraordinary 15½” high backsplash should be more than sufficient in protecting your walls from splashing water.
With MHS, IMC/Teddy has pioneered a solution to better serve you & complement your facility. With the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we feel that MHS will be a perfect fit for promoting hand washing.
