IMC/Teddy Has Officially Moved!

IMC/Teddy Food Service Equipment has been serving the food service industry for over 70 years. In that time span, IMC has had several homes – beginning as a small fabrication shop serving local New York City businesses to now an international company serving customers across the globe.
Over the past 30+ years, however, we’ve made our home at 50 Ranick Drive East located in the famous town of Amityville, Long Island, New York. We made major modifications to that location to accommodate our growing business & it served us well. Until it was time for a new change of scenery.
In this article, we’ll recap the brief history of how IMC has now made our headquarters at 11 Ranick Drive South – which is located just down the street from our former location. Let’s dive right in.
The Deal is Done
The idea of moving into a new facility did not happen overnight. In fact, this was months in the making.
To make things simpler, we will go back to April of this year. IMC/Teddy was eager to expand operations & there was an opportunity to move into a larger 42,000 square feet building (a large step up from 16,000 square feet) – just down the block. The building was once occupied by a famous luxury beauty & soap manufacturer.
The pieces were in place for IMC to move into this expansive site & the deal was finally done. With that said, major work had to take place to make the transition seamless between both buildings.
The Construction Begins
Official construction began in June 2026 with demolitions of walls & other barriers. After that, massive electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling projects commenced. Important gas/electrical lines for various heavy machinery & welding stations needed to be set up. A large cleaning project was also initiated, which cleared up any lingering dirt & debris. New office floors & ceilings were installed. All rooms in the new building were painted for a fresh appearance as well. Lastly, various IT rooms needed to be prepped to accommodate our servers & other vital computer equipment.
Time to Move
In early July, it was time for the factory to make the pilgrimage into the new facility. We began with the Brake & Laser teams. After that, the Welding & Assembly departments moved over. The Polishing crew followed shortly after. Finally, the Shipping team moved over to complete the factory move. This entire process took roughly 2 months.
After that, it was time for the primary office to move over. We began first with the Engineering & Draft departments, with the remaining offices moving on the following day. We fully settled into the new office space as of October 2, 2026.
Why Did We Do This?
IMC/Teddy’s goal has always been to better serve you & meet the demands of your intense projects. With that said, growth has always been in IMC’s mission statement. We believe it was time for new surroundings that would position ourselves better as a manufacturer that will be your ally. Here’s what that will entail:
- With the larger overall space, we will be expanding our team – both in the factory & office.
- Factory real estate is now abundant, so there is more room to store all the raw materials & finished projects. Also, there are better staging areas for shipping so we can ship multiple projects at one time.
- IMC’s stock items have been an important part of your last-minute projects. With the new building, we can now expand our stock item offerings & keep larger quantities on hand to meet your demands.
- We’re striving to become a company that is embracing modern technology. This means better overall tech & methods of getting office & manufacturing tasks done easily & efficiently. This includes building a dedicated photo/video studio, an expansive conference room with the latest amenities & an attractive showroom complete with some of our finest products. None of this was possible in our former building.
While we are still working minor kinks out, we are very excited to continue serving you through this eventful time with as little downtime as possible.
So, What’s Next?
We’re keen on showing you the new place & this will come in multiple ways:
- We’re cooking up a complete video series on the moving journey. It will consist of 4 videos – 2 related to the factory & 2 related to the office. The videos will be released in stages & will be hosted on our YouTube page here.
- We’re also making photo galleries to accompany the above videos. There will be 2 photo galleries – 1 for the factory move & 1 for the office move.
- Finally, when the dust fully settles, we’re going to do 2 separate video tour walkthroughs – 1 for the entire factory & 1 for the comprehensive office space.
Here’s a Preview
While we work on the above, we want to give you a glimpse into the new facility just to hold you over. Here’s some interesting shots in the meantime:
