Top 5 Advantages of IMC Mixer/Slicer Tables
Stainless steel worktables & equipment stands are some of the most common items found in any commercial facility. But, what if you need a specially designed worktable to hold your mixer/slicer?
In essence, IMC mixer/slicer tables provide a dependable surface for commercial mixers, griddles, blenders, or slicers to sit atop. IMC mixer/slicer tables are designed to free up valuable countertop space while providing a convenient & secure location for your equipment. Mixer/slicer tables are perfect for schools, bakeries, pastry shops, delis, pizzerias or any commercial restaurant.
Let’s explore the top 5 major advantages of equipping your facility with an IMC mixer/slicer table:
1. Durability
Because these tables are designed to hold heavy equipment, mixer/slicer tables are more heavy duty than your typical worktable. Your mixer/slicer table must be able to withstand hundreds of pounds of weight. With that said, mixer/slicer tables are heavier in gauge (the most common being 14GA) with stainless steel channeling underneath for extra support.
2. Ergonomic Height
Another advantage is that they are typically lower in height. This means that they are often at a comfortable working height for the equipment placed on top when compared to a worktable table with a higher surface. Having a piece of cooking equipment on a higher table can make it more difficult to use & it greatly increases the risk of accidents while on the job.
The common heights of IMC mixer/slicer tables range from 30″ to 34″, & their widths range from 24″ to 36″.
3. Mobility
If you are looking to purchase a mixer/slicer table, you’ll most likely see that it includes casters with brakes. This is so equipment can be easily wheeled around to different areas of the facility & stored away when not in use. This is particularly helpful for allowing multiple work stations to use a single piece of equipment.
4. Extra Storage – Undershelves & Pan Slides
Storage & organization are two valuable assets in any commercial facility. With that said, mixer/slicer tables feature undershelves that can be used to store a variety of important supplies & equipment.
Another common feature is the inclusion of pan slides built into the base of the table. For example, pan slides let you position trays of dough until they’re ready to be baked & give you a place to rest products while they cool down.
5. Easy Customization
As with all IMC stainless steel food service equipment, customization options & accessories are available to make your table perfect for your application. To name a few, you can equip yours with a drop shelf, accessory holder, additional undershelf, or bumpers to protect against wall/corner damage. Also, customizing the size of your table does not add lead time.
At IMC/Teddy, we manufacture a variety of mixer/slicer tables to meet your specific needs. In particular, the SMTT & SMSS models features a unique tool tree for added storage. All units are provided with interlocking devices for quick & easy assembly & disconnecting. Custom sizes are also available. For a look at all of our mixer/slicer table offerings, click here.
Hi,
I think all your reasons for the benefits are spot on. There is one other idea which I have always applied to make the job of cleaning under kitchen appiances on tables and that is to leave off the top altogether. and mount the appliance rather in the same way as a combi oven is mounted on the legs. No bench top saves having to clean under the unit. Have also used a similar aproach when mounting appliances such as heated drawers or microwave ovens under a bench. Replace the shelf with a pair of runners which still enables the units to be slid in and out. Less shelves/less cleaning time.
I really like your notes on the design of “ordinary” kitchen fitout items: they can do with the thought that you give them.
As my home life has now irrevocably changed I am considering becoming reinvolved in the industry. To that end I am planning a visit to UK next year after the FHA Singapore show and would like to catch up if at all possible.
Cheers Tim
