This is the “IMC/Teddy Advantage”

IMC/Teddy has been in the stainless steel foodservice industry for almost 70 years. Over the course of time, IMC has slowly chiseled its way as a leading manufacturer in this industry. However, IMC did not get here by simply copying what the competition is doing. IMC achieved this position by offering you a unique experience that no other manufacturer can. What sets us apart exactly?

In this article, we will go over the “IMC/Teddy Advantage” in six ways. These six points are the defining features of IMC & these are values that make up much of our core business. Let’s dive right in.

1. Type 300 Series Stainless Steel ONLY

As we all know, stainless steel has multiple grades & alloys that make it one of the most versatile metals in the world. However, only a few types are “food grade.” One of them is type 300 & the others are type 200 & 400.

IMC only uses type 300 series stainless steel – in particular 304 & 316 alloys. The balance of performance & versatility outweighs the other grades substantially. Type 200 & 400 (both of which lack corrosion resistance) simply do not compare.

Apart from this, IMC does not use any form of galvanized steel in any product. Galvanized steel is simply not the best for food grade applications due to weakened rust resistance & less durability.  IMC does not cut corners in terms of quality with any of our products.

2. No Plastic Pieces – Ever

Plastic is cheap, but the durability factor is a huge issue. It simply does not stand up to the day in, day out abuse that many commercial environments see. This is because plastic can easily crack or warp, which is why IMC does not use it for any product. The most common use of plastic is for gussets on worktables & bullet feet for any worktable, shelving, cabinets, etc. IMC uses 100% stainless steel gussets & bullet feet on all products that need them. The use of stainless steel parts will save you long term costs & give you better longevity out of your product.

3. Fully Welded Products

IMC believes in giving you a complete, finished product. As a result, IMC only supplies 100% fully welded items. When you receive a finished piece from IMC, it will not have any apparent gaps or disjointed pieces. You are getting a fully realized piece of work that has gone through numerous quality checks before it is shipped from our facility.

4. 100% American Made

IMC’s stainless steel items are made domestically in the United States in our factory in Amityville, NY. Why? 3 reasons:

A. The quality is better when compared to the competitive Chinese stainless steel. American steel has a lower chance of rusting over time & faces strict testing guidelines during the manufacturing process.

B. The American steel industry is the cleanest in the world due to strict environmental regulations.

C. The American steel industry accounts for nearly $520 billion in the economy & offers close to 2 million jobs.

5. NSF Approved Products

NSF is THE product testing, inspection & certification agency for food service equipment. When a product is NSF certified, this means it has passed strict compliance tests & adheres to all food safety standards. Having unsafe equipment on hand can also lead to penalties & downtime so seeking NSF certified equipment is in your best interest.

With that said, almost all of IMC products are NSF approved – giving you peace of mind when used in your commercial facility. Here is the complete list of NSF certified items manufactured. We are also in the process of getting more products certified & constantly updating the list.

6. Not Robots, Only Humans

Every single piece of IMC product that comes out of our factory is made by human hands. IMC does not employ robots to perform any task during the manufacturing process. IMC believes in keeping with traditional methods & humans can simply learn & adapt to new situations while robots are limited.

With the above advantages, IMC is here to be your teammate on your next project. Stainless steel is the lifeblood of IMC & we take our work seriously. Do not settle for less quality. For a closer look at our mission, click here.
