Look Into the Mirror…

Continuing with our retro series, we bring you a product that is quite reflective of the past. It is Model #MC Mirrored Cabinet & it is a unique product that serves a dual purpose. It is both a vanity piece & a secure storage unit – constructed from stainless steel. Let’s turn back the hand of time & explain the history of this product, its uses & its whereabouts today.

The History

Model #MC was conceived as a multi-functional product. This means it was designed to conserve space, save money & fulfill multiple roles. In an age when multi-functional equipment was just starting out, a combination mirror & cabinet was just the beginning of things to come.

Storage is one of the most important aspects of any commercial area, plus having the proper sanitary appearance/attire during food handling is crucial & a mirrored surface is just one way to ensure this.

Thus, IMC created the mirrored cabinet & brought it to market for commercial facilities (in bathrooms & kitchens) to incorporate into their lineup.

The Specs

Model #MC is constructed of type 304 stainless steel – the same steel we use to this very day. The interior shelves were solid flanged & attached to the main body. The door comes standard with a hinged mirrored door. Below that is a storage compartment for smaller items for quick access. Have a look at the original spec sheet:

The Options

Some of the more popular options included double-sided mirrored doors & sliding double doors. The cabinet was also available with locks for extra security & non-mirrored doors, if you preferred. As always, custom widths, lengths & depths were also available to fit into your space perfectly.

The Legacy Continues

Although Model #MC does not exist today, the product lives on in another fashion. IMC’s current accessory cabinet, Model #AC, has the option for a mirrored door – which brings back the spirit of the original. Model #AC comes equipped with (2) adjustable shelves & an optional lock box attachment is available much akin to the classic model as well. The original spirit truly lives on.
