IMC Base Cabinets: Why You Need Them in Your Commercial Facility
We’ve spoken about wall cabinets & wall shelves before. It’s no secret that those 2 products are ideal for vertical storage of items. But, let’s take things down to the floor level. Let’s address IMC base cabinets.
If you have plenty of floor space to work with, IMC base cabinets are the perfect item to have in your commercial facility. Base cabinets might seem like a simple item, but they are actually more complex than you think.
In this article, we will take a look at the primary functions & styles of IMC base cabinets. Let’s get started.
What’s the Real Role of a Base Cabinet?
At first glance, you might think that a base cabinet is only used for storing your key supplies. While that is correct, base cabinets serve two primary functions.
IMC base cabinets serve as a solution that acts as both an efficient workspace & a way to organize your items. Add to that durability, versatility & convenience & you have an important asset in your lineup that will last your business long after it arrives.
Simply put, IMC base cabinets are ideal for any area in your commercial facility, a stainless steel base cabinet is a great way for your staff to prepare a mixture of your most popular dishes. These enclosed base cabinets can also be used to support dozens of different food prep appliances, storage containers, & more so that your staff can work diligently & efficiently throughout the day. And thanks to their sealed bases, each enclosed base cabinet can store nearly any product that you have.
Cabinet Configurations – Pick Your Style
Similar to wall cabinets, there are three main types of configurations for IMC base cabinets. Remember that whichever configuration you choose, all IMC base cabinets are fitted with (1) stainless steel shelf that is adjustable & removable without the use of tools. More shelves can be added if needed. The IMC base cabinet standard height is 36″.
Open Front – An open front design does not have any doors so that its contents are more easily & quickly accessed without any barriers. It is particular useful for holding your plates, bowls, or glasses. With this cabinet, you can be sure your items are kept safe & sanitary, out of sight of guests but still easy & fast to access for your employees.
Hinged Doors – Many of these cabinets come with doors to help keep stored contents sanitary throughout the day. Hinged doors can also be equipped with a lock for maximum security. Depending on the length & width of your base cabinet, the number of hinged doors will differ ranging from 1-4 doors.
Sliding Doors – If space is tight or cramped, a sliding door will work flawlessly. Sliding doors do not block any outside space, thanks to the sideways sliding design. Sliding doors are designed to hide your equipment & supplies without taking up extra workspace.
What About a Corner Base Cabinet?
If floor space is really tight, an IMC corner base cabinet will be ideal. IMC manufactures three types of corner base cabinets: BC-CR (open front), BC-CHS (solid door) & BC-CHG (glass door). We recommend choosing the best configuration of standard and/or corner base cabinets to maximize your workspace area.
Can You Customize Them?
It should be noted that IMC base cabinets are one of the most customizable pieces of equipment offered. You can equip yours with a backsplash/sidesplash to protect your walls, handy drawers for even more storage, faucets for washing applications, cabinet mounted shelf for extra storage, etc.
Plan ahead & think of the role that your base cabinet will play in your facility. Once you have a plan set, you can customize yours with options as needed.
